Berlin Tiramisu Ranking (BTR)

About every week, I am trying one tiramisu in Berlin, so you do not have to try any bad ones. Somehow, apparently, this desert is surprisingly hard to get right. Here is what I tried so far, ranked from best to worst:

San Giorgio (2020-06-02)

The best and most expensive one yet! Some famous German politicians allegedly have eaten here before. Had a good evening out, talking with Matthias and his Co-Founder at ActiveClean. The biscuit was not perfectly ready, but Fabrizio warned about that ahead of time. – Mommsenstraße 36, Charlottenburg. Score: 7.5/10. Price: €7,5.

De Piadena (2020-07-24)

Quite affordable, underbiding the previous cheapest La Pausa. Portion is reasonable for one person. Close to where my friend Oliver lives. Mariannenplatz 23, Kreuzberg. Score: 7,5/10. Price: €2,5.

De Noantri (2020-05-24)

This one was actually pretty good, or maybe it was just my mood after meeting Louis to talk Boreal Bikes! Cookie was well soaked, cream was fine. – Görlitzer Str. 63, Kreuzberg. Score: 7/10. Price: €5.

Porta-Nova (2020-07-17)

Close to Charite, also associated with some memories for me. Downside here was that you could not pay by card, which I tend to find a bit questionable. Tiramisu itself was alright though. Score: 6,5. Price: €7

La Premiata (2020-05-17)

The ratio of cream to cookie is about right, however there’s just one layer of each – hence I would not recommend it! Cookie layer maybe a bit too soaky with amaretto, but that’s a minor issue. – Weinbergsweg, Mitte. Score: 5/10. Price: €5,5.

La Pausa (2020-05-29)

The cheapest Tiramisu yet, at a tourist hotspot in the very center of Berlin at Rosenthaler Platz. The cream was basically regular cream, overall nothing impressive or special. Rosenthaler Platz, Mitte. Score: 4/10. Price: €3,5.

Pizza Pane (2020-05-10)

Cheap supermarket tiramisu often is almost all cream, hardly any or no cookie. This was probably the most cookie and least cream I ever had for a tiramisu. So, this is the other extreme and I would also not recommend it. Kastanienallee, Prenzlauer Berg. Score: 4/10. Price: €4,5.

to be continued... to do list: Pane e Vino, Kastanienallee, Italian Food Berlin, Kastanienallee, Pasta & Passione, Kastanienallee.
